Basic Terminology:

  • IC (In character.) This is when you are performing actions that are applicable in roleplay. This is active all of the time unless you are in spawn or speaking OOCly in the chatbox using the /occ prefix.

  • OOC (Out of Character.) Things you say here can not be used inside of roleplay; you can say anything you wish without any IC consequences.

  • Metagaming: Using information you have obtained by OOC means to affect/influence IC actions/situations.

  • Metabit: Telling other people things in an OOC fashion to influence their IC actions. For example, speaking to someone OOCly in a Discord call and telling them that you have been kidnapped and your location in hopes they will then raid the building and release you.

  • Powergaming: Forcing a response onto someone without allowing it to occur naturally. For example, fabricating IC evidence to get someone removed from their position and/or Permanently Killed.

  • NLR: New life rule. After you have died, you must wait 2 minutes before returning to the point of death (where you died IG).

From this point on, even if rules are not listed below, common sense is to be used. Staff always have the final say in OOC decisions. If you disagree, you can appeal.

It is not permitted to try to find loopholes in the rules to exploit them purposely. If they are found, report this to a member of Central Management.

Basic Rules:

The following actions are strictly prohibited on the server.

Any Examples listed are not the sole examples; there may also be other actions that would break a rule listed.

FearRP Rules:

You are under FearRP when a gun has been pointed at you. If you already had your own gun out, you may fire at the person gun pointing you. If you did not, you must from this point on follow all of their commands as long as their commands do not break server rules. When there is an active combat situation, FearRP may only be achieved by a person going behind another person with their weapon drawn. In this case, even if the person being placed under FearRP had their weapon drawn, they are still classed as under FearRP.

In a situation where the person/group of people is outnumbered, even if they have their weapon drawn, they must conform to FearRP. For example, 1 person can place 1 person under FearRP. If one person tries to place 2 people under FearRP, this is not allowed. There must be a 1:1 ratio of the people being placed under FearRP and the people placing them under FearRP. For 3 people to be placed under FearRP, you must have 3 people placing them under FearRP. This is only applicable if the people being placed under FearRP do not have their weapons drawn. If you wish to FearRP someone or a group of people who have their weapons drawn, you must outnumber them by at least 2 people.

Raiding Rules:

The following rules are only applicable to members of the resistance or other crime-oriented resistance/custom groups. Members of the Reich may raid anything at any time as long as they possess a proper IC reasoning.

  • To raid a building, you need a proper IC reason obtained by IC means.

  • A valid reason to raid a Reich building may be to obtain resources/steal documents, or to kidnap a high-ranking American Reich official. You may not raid a building for the sole reason of engaging in combat, giving no real IC benefit.

  • A raid is initiated by contacting the staff team and getting proper approval.

  • A raid requires 3 people to get accepted by the staff team.

  • Between raids, a 30-minute cooldown is initiated from the point of the raid's end. Meaning, no other player on the server can raid any building for 30 minutes.

  • If your raid does not meet the above requirements and do not contact staff for raid approval; this is considered a Fail-Raid.

Takeover Rules:

All of the raid rules also apply to takeovers. This section will only contain the extra criteria for a takeover.

  • A takeover is when you initially raid a Reich building, capturing/killing everyone inside.

  • After this, you hold the building for as long as you can. Officially taking over the building and claiming it as your own.

  • For a takeover to take place, a minimum of 5 people are required.

  • Takeovers may last a maximum of 45 minutes. If you survive this long, the staff team will remove you from the building.

  • After a takeover is finished, there is a cooldown of 60 minutes. During this time, no other player on the server may initiate a takeover after raiding a building.

General Combat Rules:

  • You must have a valid RP reason to kill, shoot at, or engage in combat with another player.

  • You may shoot another player if they initially deal damage to you via combatitive means.

  • You may not shoot at someone because of their appearance, religion, or because they insulted you.

  • Countering. If a known associate of yours is being arrested or shot at, you may shoot at the people who are harming this associate. You must do /advert Counter before any action is taken.

  • Reich officials are not expected to do /advert counter before countering a group of people who pose a threat to another American Reich official. Furthermore, American Reich officials may arrest people for insulting them, as this falls under ‘Disrespect to an American Reich official.’

  • Reich officials are also expected to make every effort to arrest someone who poses a threat before engaging in combat with them.

General Kidnapping Rules:

  • You may not kidnap someone just to kill them or mug them.

  • A hostage may not be kept for more than 15 minutes unless active RP is going on within the hostage situation. Such as, but not limited to, negotiations for their life or a hostage interrogation.

  • A person may not be kidnapped by the same group or person within a 25-minute window.

  • The maximum asking price for a hostage to be set free is based on rank: Enlisted max=15,000RM, Non-Commissioned Officer max=30,000RM, Commissioned Officer max=45,000RM, General Officer max=85,000RM.

  • When kidnapped, if under gunpoint, you must follow the commands of the kidnapper/kidnappers. Such as asking you to speak over your radio, speak in an advert, etc.

  • Breaking out from shackles is strictly prohibited in ALL situations. Unless you are left alone in a room and not actively being watched.

  • It is permitted to temporarily detain cadets if it is required in the situation. However, they are not allowed to be taken out of their training area and must be released swiftly.

Mugging Rules:

  • Mugging is only permitted for members of a Mafia-based custom group.

  • Any person may only be mugged for a maximum of 5,000RM.

  • Business owners may only be mugged when inside their business and for an increased maximum of 10,000RM.

  • The same person may only be mugged by the same group of Mafia members every 35 minutes.

Ambushing Rules:

  • You may only ambush a foot patrol with a minimum of 3 people; everyone is required to /advert ambush.

  • You may ambush a single car patrol with a minimum of 3 people; everyone is required to /advert ambush.

  • Convoys (Car patrols with more than one vehicle, travelling together) cannot be ambushed.

  • Only one ambush may occur every 25 minutes.

Interrogation Rules:

  • If a member of the ARBI is being interrogated and tortured, they are required to give up the names of all on-duty agents who are of a lower rank than them.

  • If any member of the resistance is being interrogated and tortured, they are required to give up the names of all resistance members active on the server.

  • Torturing for information may only last a maximum of 25 minutes. The start of the torture is when the first /me is sent inside the chatbox.

American Reich-Specific Rules:

  • ‘Corrupt RP’ is permitted as stated in the name of this action; you must have a valid RP reason to carry out any action that falls under Corrupt RP. For example, an action deemed as corrupt RP would be shooting an ARBI agent if he took a picture or witnessed you doing something that could harm your character in the long run. (Demotions, court trials, etc.) If there are 2 or more witnesses and people around you, you may not kill them as an act of Corrupt RP, as you would be outnumbered, and then this action would be classed as FailRP and RDM/MRDM.

  • During a lockdown, American Reich officials may order people to return to their homes and detain people who refuse.

  • Members of the American Reich are permitted to establish roadblocks/checkpoints with the proper IC approval. These checkpoints must be marked with a text screen. Furthermore, if you plan to arrest people if they enter an area blocked off with a roadblock/checkpoint, the text screen must also state this; otherwise, this would be classed as a Random Arrest.

  • A valid RP reason is required to check someone’s ID.

  • You may not battering ram armored vehicles to remove people from them. Such as AFVs, Halftracks, etc.

  • Valid RP reasons are needed to raid properties. Such as hearing gunshots inside the building, evidence of illegal activity/props, explosions, or fires, etc.

Building Rules:

  • A keypad for a fading door is required to be on both sides of the door within close proximity and in an accessible area.

  • A base must be in a realistic design fitting the time era (1960s).

  • Bases that require you to crouch/jump to enter are not permitted.

  • You may not prop block. (Putting props in places that make places physically impossible to enter/exit.)

  • Building textscreens may be used on the outside of a building to indicate that no active RP is going on inside the building, and not to raid it. However, these must be removed as soon as the building is finished.

  • You may not build on roofs. You may, however, place some small fortification props such as sandbags and concrete barriers to assist with combat. If combat is actively happening on these roofs.

  • KOS/AOS text screens are prohibited on buildings.

  • Prop Vehicles of any sort are not permitted.

  • Elevators are not permitted.

  • It is not permitted to use props that do not fit in with the era (1960s). If you find props such as these that are unblacklisted, it is your responsibility not to use them and report this to the staff team.

  • It is not permitted to spawn props that break Gmod TOS. Again, if you find props such as these that are unblacklisted, it is your responsibility not to use them and report this to the staff team.

PAC3 Rules:

  • Sound effects are not permitted.

  • Resizing/scaling of player models is generally not permitted. If this is done, it must be reasonable in an RP/IC sense. This is, however, mostly left to staff discretion.

  • Changing materials to make camouflage is not permitted.

  • PAC guns are prohibited.

3D Stream Radio Rules:

  • Songs played must match the time era.

  • The radio cannot be uncomfortably loud. This varies from MP3 to MP3, but make sure it is a bearable noise level.

  • The radio cannot have an incredibly far radius, as this would mean the whole server would be able to hear the song. Which doesn’t make sense in an RP manner. A good radius is 500-1000.

  • Radios cannot be placed in inaccessible areas.
